It Is What It Is: Bondi Run
It is what it is: Bondi Run.
You’re in pain, so what will you do about it?
So it goes, so it flows.
The sun's rays graze my face, unknowingly burning my skin. Everything is better in moderation.
Music transmutes through Bluetooth waves into my ears, into my head.
My heartbeat syncs in rhythm with the songs I play at 160 BPM.
Down below, the ocean shifts from navy to turquoise as it slams into rock, into the ever-evolving shoreline.
It is what it is.
You’re out of breath, so what will you do about it?
So it goes, so it flows.
The breath flows in and out through the air, through space, through time, and feeds the vegetation.
My heart beats as blood pumps in and out throughout my entire body in less than a minute.
People pass by. I pass by them, and they pass by me.
All of us have waves of energy.
That’s all this is; an energetic game, an energetic field.
We take on roles, on bodies, on forms.
We interact in games of tag or hide and go-seek.
It is what it is.
You feel alone, so what will you do about it?
So it goes, so it flows.
Like shapeshifters, we move from one energetic balance, or imbalance, to the next.
It’s all always moving and always changing.
Children laugh and play along in the soft sand. It’s amusing how they always run, never walk, to their sought-after destination whether it be the vast sea or their mother’s arms.
It’s a run. It’s always been a run. Whether your run is an actual walk or a run.
It’s all the same. Definitions don’t matter.
To cover the distance as fast as possible.
To reach goals as fast as possible.
When did the run become less exciting?
When did we stop laughing and playing and enjoying the run to eliminate the joyousness of it, to running along a never-ending rubber belt?
The mindless treadmill may not be so efficient to get to where you want to go.
It’s the energy of it that matters; the connection, the exchange.
The birds and the trees and the bees knees. We know this intuitively.
When we realize that it’s not just the run, but it’s all these things in one, things will change.
It is what it is, so what will you do about that?
How and where you run is up to you.
So it goes, so it flows.
We are all one on this never-ending run.
